The name of the city of Imola is deeply linked to the Santerno circuit. The Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack, and the events associated with it, have made Imola, a town nestled between Emilia and Romagna, known to the world. The people of Imola are united by a deep love for the track that brought so much fame to the city. Unfortunately, however, the days when the San Marino Grand Prix was a regular fixture on the Formula 1 calendar are long gone.
In recent years, the spring race in Imola has been replaced with more exotic destinations and more modern facilities, but with less charm and less history. Not being included in the Formula 1 world championship calendar has effectively led to the Santerno circuit's diminished notoriety. Despite this, the affection that binds Imola to its circuit has not diminished, and the bond that unites the people of Imola to their track remains strong on a daily basis.
In this photographic journey, I present a series of images that narrate this relationship experienced trackside.
